Testing · Methodology

Approval-grade
testing, five steps.

Every Cartesy system supplied by Transport Solutions is commissioned through the same five-stage methodology — designed to support NCT, DVSA MOT (UK ATL) and CVRT approval processes. The aim is to reduce approval delays by completing site, calibration and documentation checks before inspection.

01 / SITE SURVEY

Site survey & specification

Before a single roller arrives, we walk the site. Lane geometry, drainage, ceiling height, electrical capacity, vehicle flow — measured and documented against the chosen Cartesy configuration.

  • Lane footprint & pit dimensions verified against ECTGT / CTGT base plates.
  • Three-phase supply load assessed against equipment draw.
  • Vehicle flow modelled to inspector station and queueing.
  • Drainage, lighting and exhaust extraction reviewed against approval body requirements.
  • Specification document delivered — equipment list, civil drawings, electrical SLD.
02 / CIVIL & ELECTRICAL

Civil & electrical works

Concrete tolerance, conduit runs and earth bonding are where most "approval surprises" originate. We co-ordinate with your contractor and sign off the slab before equipment dispatches.

  • Concrete strength & flatness verified to manufacturer spec (±2 mm / 3 m).
  • Conduit runs and pull-pits sized for cable schedule.
  • Three-phase supply, distribution & emergency stop wired and tested.
  • Earth bonding measured and documented.
  • Slab sign-off photographed and recorded.
03 / INSTALLATION

Installation & commissioning

Cartesy-trained installation engineers deploy the lane, integrate with your management software, and run the full mechanical and software acceptance test on site.

  • Roller bed, suspension plates and play detector installed and levelled.
  • Brake sensor, console PC and indicator boards integrated.
  • Software paired to your inspection management system.
  • Mechanical & software acceptance test signed off jointly with your team.
  • Operator training session delivered against a printed runbook.
04 / CALIBRATION

Calibration & certification

Every system leaves commissioning calibrated to ±3% accuracy with traceable certificates issued for each measurement chain.

  • Brake force calibrated against load-cell reference and ramped through full range.
  • Axle load calibrated against traceable reference weights.
  • Sideslip and suspension reference tests run and logged.
  • Calibration certificates issued — traceable to national standards.
  • Annual recalibration scheduled and contracted.
05 / APPROVAL

Approval body support

We attend the NCT, DVSA or CVRT approval inspection with you. Documentation pack ready, engineer on site, snag list closed before the inspector leaves.

  • Documentation pack assembled — civil, electrical, calibration, training.
  • On-site attendance for approval inspection.
  • Snag list addressed within 48 hours.
  • Site, civil, electrical, calibration and documentation checks completed before inspection to reduce approval delays.
  • Annual surveillance support contracted.
Outcome

A test lane that's ready for inspection.

Our process is designed to reduce approval delays by completing site, civil, electrical, calibration and documentation checks before inspection. The five-step methodology is what makes that repeatable.
